6/13/2023 0 Comments Free spartan clip managerThis sent me on a search for a similar clipboard, something that I have been downloading and comparing (too many to list here) for quite some time now. I guess as it has become more popular, they have done what so many software designers do, they change the name or add 'Pro', 'Super' or whatever "Build number", and slap a price tag on it. I liked the fact that it was very flexible, unobtrusive and freeware. This program was offered as "101 Clips" for years I know this because I have used it for years, and more recently, reviewed it on a Woman's Networking site. It was very nice up until that last test. It seems I can't run it any more, until I reboot. It's no longer appearing in my system tray (as I had set up in options/General) and when I try to run it from Windows Explorer it gives me "Runtime error '9': Subscript out of range." It's not showing up in task manager either. I typed ctrl(V) again and it seems Spartan crashed. I went to a blank text document and typed ctrl(V) (although I had not set that key up in Spartan) and the clip pasted. I used ctrl(C) for copy (as I had set Spartan to use this key) and then looked at the clipboard. It uses paste at some times when I think it means copy.īehavior if you select No but not the behavior if you select Yes.Īt this point, I tried copying and pasting a graphic. In Options (General), Under Paste Method - and even under Paste Mode - the help area (yellow area at the window bottom) seems to be confusing the words copy and paste. It would be a little more useful if we were able to adjust the width of a day on the year planner, perhaps to fit the entire year on a screen. I was looking at 2011 and expecting to see 2012's calendar. Spartan shows a preview of each clip and provides you with: A picture browser for your digital photos A browser launch button when the clip contains a web address An email launch button when it contains an email address A dial button when it contains a phone number And a run or open button where it is a program or file on your computer.Correction to my previous comment (#35): January 1st, 2011 WAS a Saturday. You can arrange things visually by position or by color and you can sort any group alphabetically. But we find Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard (and its cousins) more than enough of an upgrade. If you need to save more clips than the freeware can handle, Spartan Clipboard is available. Replacing the Windows Clipboard with better freeware just makes good sense. The free versions aren't totally identical, yet all can be upgraded to the premium Spartan Clipboard. Limits and versions: Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard is one of several freeware versions of Spartan Clipboard and comes with various restrictions over the premium software, such as clips saved. Other extras include Capturing, Clipboard History Recording, Fonts, and Backup and Restore. Tools: A basic but competent Year Planner comes with Spartan Lite. Previews: Pop-up previews appear when you hover the cursor over any cell. Pictures: You can browse and paste directly from image files or a particular Sheet. ProsĪdvanced paste: Spartan Lite's Paste menu offers numerous specialized functions like Plain Text Processing, Cases, and Custom Buttons. Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard is a free version of Spartan Clipboard and comes with some limitations, such as the number of clips per Sheet. Spartan Lite Multi Clipboard replaces the built-in Windows Clipboard with one that saves and pastes multiple clips, previews clips for easy identification, and includes useful extras like backup and restore, password protection, direct pasting from your picture files, and a built-in Year Planner.
